“There are mirrors at shoots, mirrors backstage at the shows, and a mirror just before you walk on the runway. It’s too much. The first time I ever cried on-set was when I was surrounded by mirrors for six hours. It was torture. I don’t think anyone could endure that.” —Daria Werbowy.

Daria is also the face of Lancome, they conducted an interview where she discussed topics such as beauty, elegance, style and talked about her early career.
Q: What is beauty?
A: It’s not just something physical. It is also about being energetic, charming and loving. I am very lucky (to have physical beauty), but I have flaws like everybody else. I think people must realise that they can learn to look beautiful. What changes the world is what you think and what you do with it. Beauty is a personal concept. Your personality, your intensity, your soul. It’s about what’s inside you.
Q: What is elegance?
A: It’s a combination of confidence and beauty. Something that is not obvious but subtle and graceful.

In 2004 she was chosen as one of the ” top models ” alongside Natalia Vodianova, Gisele Bundchen, Isabeli Fontana, Karolina Kurkova, Liya Kebede, Hana Soukupova, Gemma Ward and Karen Elson.

In 2004, Daria signed a contract with Lancome (estimated at about $1 million per year) and this 2011 is in its seventh year with the company. She is considered by the website as a “girl money” at the 7th position of the top 20. Has worked for Missoni, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Lancome, David Yurman, Dior, Valentino, Hermès, and Roberto Cavalli.

Despite the negative comments she received in previous years, in 2003 Daria went back to IMG in order to get funds for her education.
And fame began … Daria appeared in Vogue Italia five times. That same year, opens the spring shows of Jil Sander, Prada, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Nina Ricci and Chloe shows in Milan and Paris and close Marni in Milan. 2003 also marked her first appearance in U.S. Vogue editorial in the November issue, alongside Eugenia Volodina. Editors and designers began to consider her.
2001. She had not got international fame yet, she traveled to Milan and Paris and presented herself to several designers, but no one hires her. Her efforts also were overshadowed as she was about to participate in her first fashion week in New York in September but the terrorist attacks occurred in that city made her return to Canada devastated.
But Daria was not giving up, and she used to say that “modeling was a shadow that was haunting her”

Sus esfuerzos también fueron opacados ya que estaba a punto de participar en su primera semana de la moda en Nueva York pero en Septiembre ocurrieron los atentados terroristas en dicha ciudad y Daría regresó a Canadá devastada.
Pero Daria no se daba por vencida ya que decía que “modelar era una sombra que la perseguía”
En 2009 Forbes la enlista en las modelos mejores pagadas con ingresos anuales de 4.5 MDD.
